Are you a city dweller and want to experience grassroots community development in action? Then check out Edmonton’s Deep Freeze: A Byzantine Winter Festival on from January 9 – 10, 2010. Taking place on 9210 – 118 Ave, this year’s festival theme is the Magical Kingdom of TomFoolery as 100 artists create spectacular winter art and activities for everyone!
Expect the return of favorites such as Olde Tyme Curling, TomFool’s Ice and Snow Kingdom, ice-skating, horse and wagon rides and the Outdoor Mummer’s Play and the newest edition, Street Hockey!

Admission to the festival is free (donations accepted) and attendance of over 5000 is expected.
Deep Freeze Festival is organized by The Arts on the Ave Edmonton Society, Sculptors Association of Alberta, City of Edmonton, Avenue Initiative, and Alberta Avenue Community Centre.
