The 2010 ARPA Conference Planning Committee is currently recruiting presenters for its upcoming conference being held on October 21-23 at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, Alberta. This annual flagship education event attracts practitioners, students and volunteers from a wide range of recreation, parks and community service related disciplines.
The theme for this year’s Conference is “Renaissance 2010: Endless Possibilities”.
Renaissance, a French word meaning rebirth or revival, encompasses a resurgence of learning based on the past, leading to a transfer of knowledge that will result in the development of unique and extraordinary practices.Historically, the Renaissance was characterized by a desire to elevate the presence and potential of human beings. This is also true of the recreation and parks sector as our core business is focused around enhancing the quality of life of citizens in our communities. This period of time also embraced entrepreneurship and challenged society to be bold and innovative in setting and achieving ambitious outcomes.
The 2010 ARPA Conference Committee is committed to bringing together the best minds to discuss and share current and innovative topics, extraordinary techniques and unique practices. The 2010 Conference will create an exciting learning environment for personal and professional growth in our industry and will challenge delegates and speakers to embrace the importance of learning from the past, sharing experiences from the present and creating legacies for the future … all leading to endless possibilities.
