The Minister of Culture and Community Spirit is meeting with cultural leaders on a tour of six Alberta communities this month.

“These meetings will help put a spotlight on the incredible cultural facility capacity that already exists all over the province, while also helping us to determine what more needs to be done,” said Lindsay Blackett, Minister of Culture and Community Spirit. “Members of the Premier’s Council on Arts and Culture will be joining me in these discussions – and findings will help shape our priorities moving forward.”

Meetings will be held in the following communities:

Edmonton (June 11)
Red Deer (June 17)
Grande Prairie (June 19)
Calgary (June 22)
Fort McMurray (June 24)
Lethbridge (June 27)

The Minister has invited members of the arts, heritage and non-profit and voluntary sectors to participate in these discussions, which will help the provincial government gather input towards the development of a cultural facilities plan for the province, and increase awareness of Alberta’s cultural policy, The Spirit of Alberta.
