Hello all!

Here are some great (and free) arts, culture, and heritage resources that you can all tap into for the fall. Nothing like using those dog days of summer to plan for fun arts and cultural events!

_Culture Days _
Culture Days is a collaborative pan-Canadian volunteer movement to raise the awareness, accessibility,participation and engagement of all Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities. A national Steering Committee, together with provincial committees (known as Provincial Task Forces) are self-mobilizing at the grassroots level to implement concurrent annual province-wide public participation events each September beginning in 2010. The annual, concurrent Culture Days events across Canada will feature free, hands-on, interactive activities that invite the public to participate “behind the scenes,” to discover the world of artists, creators, historians, architects, curators, and designers… in their community.

Alberta Arts Days – September 17 – 19
Alberta Arts Days is quickly approaching, which means it’s time to start thinking about how you’d like to be involved! Last year, thousands of Albertans discovered, experienced and celebrated our vibrant arts and culture landscape. Hundreds of community groups and organizations partnered to offer 571 events in 116 communities.

Alberta Arts Days has a starring role for absolutely everyone: artists, art organizations, community groups, municipalities, libraries, schools and businesses. This year, show your support for local art and culture by partnering with others in your community to host an event or becoming a sponsor.

Hosting an event doesn’t need to be a major undertaking. It can be as simple as adding an artistic flair to something that’s already in the works, or opening your organization’s doors and offering a behind the scenes look into how art is created. We’ve developed a number of resources to help you get started. http://culture.alberta.ca/artsdays/

Inter-Action
Inter-Action, Canada’s new Multiculturalism Grants and Contribution Program, is administered by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). The Program supports CIC’s mandate and the Canadian Multiculturalism Act by assisting the socio-economic integration of individuals and communities and their contributions to building an integrated and socially cohesive society.

There are two Inter-Action funding streams: a) Projects b) Events

WestJet Fun n’ Festival Series
At WestJet, we take fun seriously – which is why we are excited about another great season for our Fun n’ Festival series! Fun is an important aspect of our culture at WestJet, so it only makes sense that we would partner with some of the best festivals from coast to coast. How can you let us know? At WestJet, we use an on-line request tool that allows you to tell us about your project in a way that puts you on a level playing field by requesting the same type of information from everyone. It also allows us to make more effective and timely decisions regarding the large volume of requests we receive each year.

ACE Communities Pepsi Refresh Grant
Vote for ACE Communities’ Pepsi Refresh Project!!! ACE Communities’ project proposal for a series of music and dance tours in Albertan Aboriginal communities has been moving up the ranks for a $100,000 prize in the Pepsi Refresh Project…
